Samsung and BOE agreed to take the OLED Screen lawsuit out of Court

According to a Yonhap report, Samsung Display and BOE have agreed to settle their issue out of court. So, what should you know about it?
In case you didn’t know, Samsung Display sued BOE a few years ago, claiming the company infringed on its intellectual property rights for OLED screen technology. As a result of the lawsuit, devices using BOE screens faced a ban on sales in the United States.
No known details on the deal between the two parties
For your information, it is not known what the agreement between the two companies is, but BOE will likely have to pay royalties for using Samsung’s OLED patents that were allegedly infringed. Samsung is the largest manufacturer of OLED panels for smartphones.
However, devices recently manufactured in China have started using BOE panels because they are cheaper. Among the companies using BOE panels are Apple, Huawei, Vivo, OnePlus and Oppo.
