Watching TikTok and short videos excessively does make your brain “rot” – Study

A recent study by the American Psychological Association (APA) found that short videos have been proven to have an impact on the individual’s brain. That said, what should you know about it?

Short videos do affect your brain directly

The APA conducted the study by taking data from 71 previous studies involving 98299 participants who watched short video content across various platforms. Watching a high volume of short videos directly caused cognitive function to decline, especially in individuals of all ages.

They become less sensitive to slower content and cognitive tasks that require effort, such as reading, problem solving and deep learning. Excessive viewing of short videos can lead to poor sleep, increased anxiety and loneliness.

If you find yourself with this symptom, you can start healing it by picking up a book and touching grass. There is more to life than the screen in front of you.
