OnePlus Ace 6T launched as the first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip

OnePlus today announced the OnePlus Ace 6T for the Chinese market, confirming that it will be the base model for the OnePlus 15R that will be launched globally. So, what should you know about it?

Interestingly, it is the first phone to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. For now, full details about its performance are still not revealed.

 

A beefed up flagship?

For your information, the Ace 6T features a 6.7-inch 1.5K 165Hz OLED display complete with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The rear houses a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera while the 32MP front camera is used for selfies. Durability is also a focus with IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings along with a vapor chamber cooling system.

Moreover, it is loaded with an 8000mAh battery that supports 100W charging. For the Chinese market, OnePlus installed ColorOS 16 as the operating system. The Ace 6T is offered in three colors, namely black, green and purple with a metal frame using the micro-arc oxidation process like the OnePlus 15.

Furthermore, the black and green variants feature a silk-textured glass finish, while the purple variant features a fiberglass back panel. Based on information so far, the global OnePlus 15R will share the same design and specifications as the Ace 6T but will not receive a purple color. Other changes by market are yet to be announced.
