HONOR 500 and 500 Pro China release – 6.55-inch AMOLED and 8000mAh battery, starting price at ~RM1.5K

Back in China, HONOR released yet another device: the HONOR 500 and 500 Pro. They are just mid-range tier phones, but what makes them stand out is having a humongous battery pack of 8000mAh. Below are more details of the tech specs, features, prices and availability.
The HONOR 500 and 500 Pro Tech Specs
According to the specs sheet, both the 500 and 500 Pro feature the same 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ 2736×1264 resolution, 10.7-billion colours, DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, and 600 / 1800 / 6000 nits brightness structure for HDR in photos and videos. Eye protection features include eye protection statistics, monitoring, flicker detection, 3840Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, defocus vision relief, dry-eye-friendly mode, eye comfort mode, natural-light eye protection, and sleep display.

Next, both also have the same 8000mAh battery that we mentioned earlier. Charging supports 80W HONOR SuperCharge with wired charging, and intelligent charging modes are supported. However, only the pro variant has an extra 50W wireless SuperCharge, plus wireless reverse charging.
At the camera corner, the 500 and 500 Pro use the same 200MP main sensor (OIS) and 12MP ultrawide macro camera, but only the latter comes with an extra 50MP telephoto camera (OIS). As for digital zoom, the phones can go up to 30x and 100x, respectively, and other camera features include up to 4K video recording, AI telephoto, and many more. The front camera for each is a 50MP wide-angle selfie camera.

Finally, what really separates the two phones is the chipset. The 500 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, while the 500 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 “Ultimate Edition” mobile platform.
System and Other Features
Both models run MagicOS 10.0 based on Android 16, while featuring many AI tools. This includes:
- YOYO assistant
- AI face morph detection
- AI translation
- GPU Turbo X
- OS Turbo X
- Multi-screen collaboration
- PC mode
- Smart multi-window
- Smart vision tools and many more
Last but not least, both models carry IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection ratings under controlled lab conditions. Splash, water, and dust resistance may decrease with wear, and liquid damage is not covered under warranty.
Price and Availability
The HONOR 500 and 500 Pro have a couple of memory variants, starting at 12GB + 256GB for 2699 Yuan (~RM1.5K) and 3599 Yuan (~RM2K), respectively. The biggest one is the 500 Pro (16GB + 1TB) for 4799 Yuan (~RM2.7K).
For now, these two phones are sold exclusively in the Chinese market. It is unclear if HONOR Malaysia plans to import them here, so we just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
