If you’re looking to snap better photos, record high-quality videos, or upgrade from a DSLR, the recently released Canon EOS R6 Mark III could be the one for you.

Might be Mightier than the pen

They say the pen is mightier than the sword, while a picture paints a thousand words. Therefore, the camera might just be mightier than the pen, with the Canon EOS R6 Mark III as a standout example. This full-frame mirrorless camera features a 32.5MP CMOS sensor, more than high-res enough to print A2 posters. In terms of format, the options include 14-bit RAW, 14-bit C-RAW, 10-bit HEIF and 8-bit JPEG.

Powering it is Canon’s DIGIC X image processing engine, which promises outstanding colour and ultra-fast burst performance. It also sports a high-precision electronic viewfinder (EVF), a durable magnesium alloy frame, and other features such as 40 fps continuous shooting. Top-notch Storytelling

Cameras are tools photographers and creatives use to tell stories today, so what can the EOS R6 Mark III do to help with storytelling? For one, this mirrorless camera captures excellent detail with 7K 30p RAW Open Gate recording. This mode lets you record videos using the entire sensor, resulting in one master file that can be cropped, reframed, or exported to other formats, from cinematic widescreen to vertical social media cuts.

It also supports 7K 60p RAW (light) recording using a 17:9 aspect ratio of the 32.5MP sensor, resulting in videos with amazing clarity and natural depth. If you need to capture some scenes in slow motion, it can even record in 4K 120p. It comes complete with full autofocus and exposure tracking, so you get ultra-smooth videos.

But that’s not all! This camera also offers Canon Log 2 and Log 3, studio-grade 24-bit audio, and oversampling for 4K 60p recordings. For those looking to capture high-quality videos, the EOS R6 Mark III is definitely a camera worth checking out.

Smarter Autofocus

A core of the modern camera is its autofocus capabilities. That’s an aspect the EOS R6 Mark III excels in, as it’s equipped with a deep learning-based Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system. Canon’s advanced AF allows the camera to track people, animals, and other moving objects like cars and bikes with greater precision.

Traditionally, AF algorithms track only the intended subject or object. But with current technology, this camera can track parts like the eyes, face, or upper body. For vehicles, you can let the camera focus on a specific spot, which is useful when snapping photos at a motorsports event.

Another cool AF-based feature is the Register People Priority mode. This mode will automatically detect and track pre-registered individuals when you’re taking photos or recording videos. It’s useful for when you expect to capture more than one person in a frame, such as concerts or other large events. This mode can pre-register up to 10 people, so even band concerts wouldn’t be an issue.

You’ll also appreciate the burst shooting capability of the EOS R6 Mark III. It supports Pre-Continuous Shooting at 40fps, allowing photographers to capture fast moving subjects silently. This makes it an ideal camera for sporting events, wildlife photography, wedding ceremonies and those special moments you don’t want to miss.
