Last week, realme confirmed plans to launch the realme 16 series on 6 January 2026. Since then, we’ve received more updates on the specs. The realme 16 series will feature two models at launch day, including the realme 16 Pro+. Here are more details of the new phone.

More specs revealed

As previously confirmed, the realme 16 series will feature a 200MP main camera, a new “Urban Wild Design” and a 7000mAh battery. The company has also announced that the realme 16 Pro+ will sport a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of storage. Additionally, the realme 16 Pro+ will have a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, plus IP69 dust and water resistance.

r. For instance, the chipset seems to be an overclocked version, as realme claims it can deliver better performance than competing phones with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. It also features a Netflix HDR mode, which is likely an HDR mode optimised for Netflix, and 80W fast charging.

Incremental upgrades

As for the other specs, not much else was revealed. Since there is no realme 15 Pro+ to use as a reference, the realme 15 Pro is the closest comparison. Based on that model’s specs, the realme 16 Pro+ can only be considered a minor upgrade. The big upgrade is the 200MP camera, which comes with an All-Zoom Portrait mode with up to 10x digital zoom.

Overall, the realme 16 Pro+ could be a solid option for realme fans who skipped the last few generations or want a powerful camera system. Could this phone fit those needs? We’ll have to wait till the launch on 6 January 2026 to find out.
