Google could launch Aluminium OS – An AI-based Android OS

According to Android Authority, Google is currently developing a new operating system, dubbed Aluminium. This was revealed through a job advertisement by Google on LinkedIn. So, what should you know about it?

 

A new era for OS?

For your information, Android is described as an Android-based operating system, and focuses on premium devices and experiences. Aluminium is also said to be an operating system developed with artificial intelligence at its core.

This operating system is expected to replace ChromeOS on laptops. Its branding is also said to be in line with Chromium (ending in -ium). It may just be a code name for now, and not the final brand for the operating system.

Google has previously stated that it will offer laptops running Android, and Qualcomm says it will be marketed as early as 2026.
