Maxis launches Yearly Upgrade Programme for iPhone users in Malaysia

Maxis has rolled out its new Yearly Upgrade programme, giving customers a faster and more flexible way to switch to the latest iPhone without waiting for their current instalment plan to finish. The initiative aims to modernise the device ownership experience and provide greater convenience for Malaysians who want to stay updated with Apple’s newest releases.
A Simpler Device Upgrade Cycle
According to Loh Keh Jiat, Maxis’ Chief Consumer Business Officer, the programme was introduced in response to strong demand from customers who prefer having the newest iPhone each year. He said that Maxis wants to make phone ownership easier while keeping customers connected to the technology that matters most to them.
The Yearly Upgrade programme allows customers to swap their current iPhone for next year’s model once they hit the 12-month mark of their instalment period. As long as the device is still in good working condition, the upgrade can be done with no additional cost, making it one of the most seamless upgrade pathways currently offered by a Malaysian telco.
Available for Maxis Postpaid 139 and Above
This benefit applies to Maxis iPhone users on a Maxis Postpaid 139 plan or higher under the Maxis Zerolution device instalment programme. New customers who purchase any iPhone 17 series device (except the iPhone Air) are eligible to upgrade to the next-generation model next year. Existing users with an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 on any ownership plan can also enjoy the yearly upgrade, provided they move to or maintain a Maxis Postpaid 139 plan or above.
