OPPO Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro China release- New Dimensity 8450 chipset and AMOLED displays, starting price at ~RM1.7K

Last night in China, OPPO unveiled its latest Reno 15 series, bringing major hardware upgrades to both the Reno 15 and the flagship-tier Reno 15 Pro. The lineup features enhanced cameras, larger batteries, high-refresh-rate AMOLED displays, and MediaTek’s new chipset. Below is everything you need to know about the Reno 15 series.
Design and Display
To begin, the Reno 15 Pro is equipped with a larger 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display, delivering a resolution of 2772 × 1272 pixels at 450 PPI. It supports 10.7 billion colour output with P3 wide colour gamut coverage. The screen reaches a global peak brightness of 1800 nits and maintains a 120Hz refresh rate with up to 240Hz touch sampling.

Meanwhile, the Reno 15 has a shorter display, measuring 6.32 inches, but also has the same display features. This includes the AMOLED display, 10.7 billion colours and up to 1800 nits peak brightness, as well as the same refresh and touch sampling rate. Its resolution (2640 × 1216 pixels) is just a bit lower, but it has a higher 460 PPI.
Performance
Powering the Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset with an octa-core design and peak clock speed of 3.25GHz. The Reno 15 Pro offers multiple storage configurations identical to the standard model, but adds higher RAM options. Users can choose between 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM paired with 256GB, 512GB, or up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The Reno 15 Pro takes the lead with a larger 6500mAh battery, supporting up to 80W SUPERVOOC charging and 80W UFCS universal fast charging. At the same time, the Reno 15 also supports the same fast charging technologies, but with a slightly lower battery capacity at 6200mAh, which is not too shabby.
Camera System
Like the standard Reno 15, the Reno 15 Pro features a triple rear camera setup led by a 200MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture, 24mm equivalent focal length, 6P lens structure, autofocus and two-axis optical image stabilisation. This is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera offering a 16mm focal length, 6P optics, autofocus and a 116-degree field of view. The 50MP telephoto lens also returns, featuring an f/2.8 aperture, 80mm equivalent focal length, autofocus and two-axis OIS.

As you can see, OPPO is investing in the Reno 15 series as a camera-centric device. The camera system further supports up to 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. Users can access new shooting modes such as Underwater Camera, AI ID Photo, Pro Mode and Super Text, and the photos can be saved in JPG or HEIF format.
On the front, the device features a 50MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 18mm equivalent focal length, 5P lens and autofocus. Like the rear cameras, the selfie photos can also be saved as JPG or HEIF.

The Reno 15 12GB + 256GB model starts at 2999 Yuan (~RM1.7K), whereas the Reno 15 Pro starts at 3699 Yuan (~RM2.1K) for the same memory model. Both phones have the option of going up to 16GB + 1TB, priced at 3999 Yuan (~RM2.3K) and 4799 Yuan (~RM2.8K), respectively.
