Tipster claims the iPhone Fold and the Samsung Wide Fold will have similar sizes

Nobody knows for sure when Apple will launch the iPhone Fold. However, that’s not stopping people from speculating. The latest bit of speculation about the iPhone Fold is how it compares to another phone in development – the Samsung Wide Fold.
Similar sizes?
Ice Universe recently uploaded some mockups of the Samsung Wide Fold and iPhone Fold. In the post, the tipster claimed that the former will have a 5.4-inch display that unfolds into a 7.6-inch screen. Similarly, the iPhone Fold’s 5.35-inch display will unfold into a 7.58-inch screen. Both are 4:3 aspect ratio displays, which should explain the identical screen dimensions.
Mind you, these mockups are far from accurate representations of what the two phones look like. However, they do illustrate how the sizes can differ slightly due to design. In these mockups, we can see that the iPhone Fold has rounded corners, while the Samsung Wide Fold has perpendicular corners.

Possibly less comfortable
More importantly, such mockups offer fans of both camps a glimpse of how these phones would look in a person’s hands. When unfolded, both phones look similar to the standard book-style foldable phones we now commonly see. However, the screen looks wider than that of regular smartphones when folded. That could be a deal-breaker for some people, as the wider screen could become harder for small hands to wrap around.
It’s best to take these speculations with a grain of salt, so let’s just patiently wait for the official designs to be revealed. In the meantime, stay tuned to TechNave for more news and updates on the latest mobile devices.
