U Mobile expands ULTRA5G coverage to Bangi, Putrajaya, and PJ New Town
U Mobile, Malaysia’s second 5G network provider, has officially rolled out its ULTRA5G experience across Bangi, Putrajaya, and Petaling Jaya New Town. Residents and visitors in these townships can now enjoy uninterrupted access to U Mobile’s next-generation 5G network anywhere within these areas, promising faster speeds, lower latency, and enhanced connectivity.
Commitment to Deep and Wide Coverage
U Mobile’s Chief Technology Officer, Woon Ooi Yuen, highlighted that ULTRA5G is powered by both 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) technologies.
“We are committed to bringing the deepest and widest 5G coverage to all Malaysians. Since the start of our deployment, we have already extended our 5G-Advanced technology network to these three outdoor clusters, as well as indoors across 30 buildings, with more expansion planned,” he said.

Woon added that the expanded ULTRA5G coverage enables both residents and professionals in private and public sectors to enjoy enhanced experiences such as crystal-clear video calls, smooth streaming, and lag-free gaming, even in crowded environments. U Mobile is also driving businesses in these areas to leverage 5G technology, providing tailored solutions to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
How to Identify ULTRA5G

- Bangi – ULTRA5G now covers the corridor stretching from Universiti Tenaga Nasional to Bandar Baru Bangi, serving the education institution’s diverse academic community (with full campus coverage available from December 2025), as well as Bangi’s residential and commercial areas. ULTRA5G also covers the township’s industrial park, unlocking enterprise digitalisation possibilities.
- Putrajaya – ULTRA5G is now available across Putrajaya, covering the vast majority of its precincts and key administrative zones, supporting public sector innovation. The new outdoor coverage footprint includes areas surrounding prominent landmarks such as Seri Perdana Complex and the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). In addition, ULTRA5G also extends to major public spaces, including Putrajaya Botanical Garden, Taman Wetland Putrajaya, Putrajaya Lake, Seri Gemilang Bridge, Seri Wawasan Bridge, as well as commercial and residential areas across all precincts.
- PJ New Town – ULTRA5G is available from Kampung Sungai Way to PJ New Town, covering Seksyen 51A, Jalan 222, PJ New Town and Seksyen 52 (around Taman Jaya LRT and nearby amenities), enhancing the digital experience for customers who live, work and play in this mature residential and commercial area.
