According to WhatsAppBetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently developing a small change that will allow Status to be displayed directly at the top of the ‘Chats ‘ tab. That said, what should you know about it?
No more “Updates” tab in the future?
For your information, by scrolling down a bit, a horizontal row displaying all Statuses from contacts will appear above the chat list. This arrangement allows users to see Status updates more easily without having to open the ‘Updates’ tab.
For status updates from contacts that have been hidden, those updates will be placed in a separate section called “Hidden”. In this section, users can still see all updates from hidden contacts without disrupting the main Status view.
However, for now, the feature is still in the early development phase. Meaning, there is no guarantee whether WhatsApp will continue to develop this feature or roll it out to users. Many features and changes are tested regularly in the app before general launch. Any decision to release these features depends on the results of various tests and evaluations.
